Dye-sensitized solar cells are a new class of advanced solar cells that mimic nature’s way of absorbing light energy.
Dye-sensitized solar cells are low-cost solar cells based on a semiconductor sanwiched between a photo-sensitized anode and an electrolyte. Dye Sensitized solar cells, often referred to as Grätzel cells, were invented in 1991 by Professor Michael Grätzel and Dr Brian O’Regan at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland.
